Cityzenith Wins Smart City Business Award

Pioneering work in the Digital Twin sector by Cityzenith has won a major accolade – a Smart City Business Award at the openbusinesscouncil’s (OBC) COVID-19 summit.

The event award recognised Cityzenith as one of the “most progressive thinking companies, demonstrating exceptional pioneer work and devotion in the Smart Cities and Government Solutions field of digital transformation”.

This fitted the Smart City Business Award criteria: to highlight any company creating innovative solutions for smart cities, smart government strategic technologies, platforms or services critical to creating better smart, intelligent cities in sectors such as Digital Twin solutions, urban accessibility and mobility, or inclusive and circular economy.

The OBC summit also looked at solutions for businesses and governments to foster sales and growth amid the challenges and changes during COVID-19 and, in partnership with the World Smart Cities Forum, offered several awards to recognise start-ups, companies, organisations, personalities, and cities paving the way with outstanding strategies and use of technologies.

They were judged by leading influencers and academics in their fields such as Dinis Guarda (CEO and Founder of openbusinesscouncil) and Michael Stanley Jones (Programme Management Officer at the United Nations Environment Programme).

Projects cover master plan developments, urban core regeneration projects, smart buildings, high-speed rail infrastructure, retail, corporate, healthcare, education, smart grid deployments, and even entire greenfield smart cities.

Michael Jansen added: “Through our Clean Cities – Clean Future initiative we have pledged to help our most polluted urban centres become carbon neutral, by donating the company’s Digital Twin platform Smart WorldOS™ to key cities, one at a time – the first partner city will be announced soon.”
