We were extremely privileged to have Thomas Lui from Actis, the lead investor into Chayora, as our special guest in an evening that also saw four founders present their lightning pitches to the audience.
Thomas flew in from Hong Kong and provided a great deal of comfort to investors, by explaining the rationale of Actis’ $180m investment into Chayora and the fund’s hopes for the company to realise a significant growth multiple as a result of this massive boost to the balance sheet.
The evening provided early Chayora investors with a rare chance to have one-on-one discussions with the company’s lead investor and understand in more detail, the company’s strategic growth plans.
Also speaking were the founders of Supermeal, a disruptor to the online food discovery marketplace; EMSOL, which is generating data-led insights to manage vehicle activity and intelligently tackle and act on the causes of transport pollution; Synapse, speaking on their current £3m institutional round; and The Pension Lab, which is developing an interactive platform and scoring mechanism, to help individuals re-connect and engage with their pensions.
